As a part of the Programme Launch for 2023 Adelaide Fringe Festival, I was asked to create a unique piece of artwork for each of the Festival Brand Partners. We also wanted to include an interactive element, so everyone involved could share that sense of energy and creativity and fun that comes with the Fringe experience.
Embracing the Fleur de Fringe theme, and keeping with the colour palette of the 2023 Poster Design, I illustrated a unique “Fleur” for each partner, inspired by their brand.
As a designer by trade, I absolutely loved the process of getting to know each of the brands. From analysing the logos, to researching the company mission and values - all facets of the business were drawn on as inspiration to create each of the Fleurs de Partner!
The artwork was displayed, exhibition style, within a new Fringe Venue; a hand-built Yurt.
Some illustrations definitely came easier than others. Some made strong use of shapes and colours found within the brand identity. While others were a bit more abstract - making use of graphic elements that symbolise business.
Each of the Brand Partner representatives were tasked with viewing and analysing the artwork, to try and identify their brand Fleur. The framed artwork was then gifted to each of the partners as a momento for the start of the 2023 Fringe Season.
