5 Noteworthy, Non-cringe, V-Day Card Designers
I’ve been a fan by Julie Richardson’s bold, witty, authentic and unapologetic style since I was a fresh faced designer. Her brand began as a mere lil’ Etsy store called Julie Ann Art, where she pursued creativity as a hobby. Now her full time gig, she has rebranded to Unblushing, selling epically un-hallmark greeting cards for all occasions.
I only recently stumbled across designers Allie Mounce and Clare Freeman. They had a dream to design stuff they liked and sell enough of the stuff they made to be able to make even more stuff. They seem to be doing a pretty good job so far. I’m diggin’ their design vibes.
Designed by paper and design enthusiasts Allison Brennan & Jessica Tree. I actually came across their work IRL at Thorn and Burrow. Of course, I then proceeded to stalk their work and am now following them across all social platforms. If you like to give good looking gifts, then I suggest you do the same.
Gemma Correll describes herself as “a cartoonist, writer, illustrator and all-round small person.” So really, what’s not to love?! In addition to her not-so-cheezy Valentines options, she has lots of cool (predominantly pug related), things on the interwebs. If that’s yo thing, definitely check her out.
Alternatively, if that someone in your life just isn’t doing it for you anymore, Valentine’s could be the perfect segue into telling them! Soften the blow with a DIY creation using these genius ideas from Oh Happy Day. Bad news is always easier to handle when it’s punny, right?
